Hi,
When you do connect it to WMDC, does your computer ask to setup a partnership? If it does, then do establish partnership. If not, then we need to do something else.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] Convinced Apex Cannot Sync With Outlook

The subject title says it all. I have been trying to follow the manual for over a year now and cannot even get the Apex to connect to either my desktop using Vista 64 bit or my laptop using Windows 7 32 bit. I have tried the USB cable and hear both the computer and Apex beep as though connecting, but WMDC says no connect and the Apex utility says connecting via USB. But they both hang there for as long as I let them. If I try syncing, I get the
error message:

"check the network is connected, keysync pc is running, if running through a
firewall check port 9613 is open"

I have done this and it is.

I have also tried to use Bluetooth on both pc's and get exactly the same
results.

I have asked this list for step by step instructions on whether to install Keysync first or WMDC and if there is anyone who has successfully synced their Apex with either Vista or Windows 7 operating pc's and received no response. I have been working with computers since 1968 and retired from a large corporation as the I t manager responsible for over 300 employees and several hundred T1 lines. I have never encountered such a befuddling challenge. I never had any challenge with either my Braille Note Classic or my M-Power. This has only been since I got the Apex. Any help is sincerely
appreciated.
