Fun question! Here are a few things to try.

You could save the file as a space-delimited .prn file. Before transferring
it to the BN, I would rename the resulting file with a .txt extension.

You could save it as an htm file and then open it in Keyweb. Text is
converted to a table, but with two columns, this shouldn't be bad.

You could convert to a .csv file, comma-separated. This would read well if
you're reading in braille.

I would think with these files if you set the reading mode to line, with
either the prn or csv approach, with both renamed to .txt documents so the
BN can recognize the file format, you would be able to use the spreadsheet.
I have bus schedules in .xls format that I saved to .txt, less elaborate
than the formats I suggested to you. Line breaks were preserved. As for
accents, I would think they would be preserved, but you would then want to
set computer braille to Spanish.

Subject: [Braillenote] Converting a file from excel to BN

Hi, I hope I am not too far off topic here but I have a large excel
spreadsheet with two columns of text and I need to save it in a way that the
MPower can access it.

Saving it as a txt file does not preserve the formatting and everything ends
up on one very very long contiguous line.

On top of that, the file has Spanish words and I need to preserve the accent
signs.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I tried going through ms word but no luck. This is not my area of expertise
and I am way out of my element.

thank you
