Some responses to recent messages:
* Download progression: Peter is correct - that there is no more
percentage indicator. However, from system's perspective, there
is a back story...
As part of KeySoft 9.1 ROM image, HW installed a program called
httpdownload.exe. This is the newly designed download engine for
handling large downloads. If the file was a library (dll), then
it would just report percentage indicators; however, with this
file being an executable (exe), it'd be hard (I guess) for HW to
fix this problem. The closest method for "restoring the
percentage indicator" is downloading the file to Flash, then as
the download is progressing, go to Options Menu, Support
Information Mode, then call memory command (SPACE with I/READ
with I). If the download is qrogressing normally, you should see
the free space on Flash decrease (don't look at the percentage
values; look at the Flash Disk's megabyte value).
I have some idea on fixing this arrangement, but because of my
position, I will not go there - it's up to HW engineers, with
assistance from users to solving this issue.
* Access violation: Nicola's case describes what program analysts
call "segmentation fault," commonly called enseg fault." In
simple words, a program tried to read from or write to a location
in memory that it didn't have access to. Common causes are
atffempting to read from location 0 (NULL), which is the case
with Nicola's unit, location that the program has used before but
it is gone (any C or C++ programmer would know what I'm talking
about) and when a program modifies another program's memory
address so that the second program reporjs unexpected results. I
don't want to go into details, but a helpful solution in this
kind of situation is try it again, or if it repeats, reset the
unit to free up memory space. (Alex, is my explanation simple
enough?)
* Undocumented commands: The first item under Connectivity Menu
(Connect using existing configuration) has a hot-key - U. The
"Setup Options" under KeyMail now uses O for its shortcut key.
* QT commands under Braille Terminal: I think the whole business
of this problem could be solved if there is a toggle to switch
between QWERTY emulation and braille input.
* Wireless Power Saving Mode: If someone tried this, could you
report on battery drain between when this thing is on or off?
