Hello All users of the Braillenote family of products; I STRONGLY ask that ALL read this email from top to bottom, I know I may come off strong but I think will understand why!!!!
I am writing to all you in a plea to stand up and start fight for what should be done and what you (gov) pay for. I am person that uses these technologies not out of choice but out of nessesany becasue I have disorder called blindness, I am also hard of hearing throw another disorder called audiroy processing disorder. What does all this mean to you, not much it just shows that I am person that needs use this stuff to get information in a easy and conforable way as sighted/hearing people would, ITS our right to have ACCESS to informaiton like rest of the world. I have had BN family items now for about 5 years and I am FINIALLY Tired of issues that should be fixed at ONCE, I don't mind waiting for updates IF they fix for REAL issues that have been around. Also if going to bring new feature like KeyChat then it should be designed from start and NOT just throwen together to try and make people happy because in long run they WILL NOT be happy with half baked features. I ASK each and ever single person on this mailing list to email HW I mean EVERY person, Email them about EVERY problem even if you don't use the feature to really care about the issue (bug) or lack of functions. I am tired of have / buying devices that do not do what they should do for the features that WE are told we will have. Example Keychat functions as much as my eyes do which is not that much. OK, come on, you can make a difference in what we get from HW all you have to do is write a email each time you use the function and it does not work the way it should as advertised, each time you use a feature that should do the basic and it does not I would say email them, tell them every time something goes wrong, report the bugs or lack of features. I am not saying create a list of email it every day of features your looking for but do it for features / bugs that we was told we would have. I strongly urge all to do this, pass the word to others that are not on the list and help BRING the attention to HUMANWARE that we are tired of halfbaked produts that don't do as they say. Humanware needs a awake up call, if they get emails on a regular base about issue we have, every time they WILL fix them because they WILL get tired of reading about the same issues and they will LEARN that WE the people DEMAND that we get what we pay for (as tax payers and clients of our goverment) PS: if someone wants to clean this up and make it better letter for people use please do so, and post to list for all to use, I think having a letter then a list in the letter where people can put the issue or lack of funtions would be great. my letter ability is not greatest as can tell. Please read also below as I have emailed the below stuff already humanware and all should do same for these issue plus anyother issue that they have. and if you want send to list your email so that many at humanware that should be read this list will see it also and users of the devices will know of the issue. God Bless, Christopher & Ensign <-- Dog Guide Hello Tech / development support, I am writng you as a user that is DeafBlind and I use the Braillenote Apex ver 9.1 >From what I understand and see myself, there is a few issue with the update that I feel after being over year waiting should be fix ASAP and should of been fixed before release. 1. Braille display is not fully able work any more with OS X (Apple products) THIS is a big issue as Apple products are by far te best accessible device out there right now. 2. There is not progress % when downloading files, or any real way to knw what going on, and this is also big issue as one not know if system has locked with out risking interuption of download (if its happening) 3. There need to be a way to have the device show as mass storage device when plug into any system, user should not have to use activesync and if using other OS like OS X you can not easly more file to and form the device. 4. Keymail is so outdated its not even really worth using and that defeats the function, we should be able to use IMAP its on MOST device today. I use GMail and I don't want to have setup it tricky to just be able to pull some email and not others, with IMAP which is able to do this. I am also not please that after a year that emails don't have the ability to click links. 5. The unzip/zip function should be a little smarter, when unzip book under book reader it should be smart and know its a book, then it should say which book would you like unpack and enter your password. however right now it ask you this when you unziping any file and it should not if there is NO password. 6. I find it really hard that HW did not think clearly about the setup of wifi stuff, if the device does not have a connection then it should PROMOT for one and not just throw a error because your not connected, it should ask you if want connect and if wifi is off then should connect as you ALREADY said you want to connect to wifi connection. 7. KeyChat I am VERY disappointed in this system, first you should be able to look at who online with out starting new converation, also if you our in converation then it should say this in that main list. on computer you can see list of people online, away, idle, busy, offline, and etc when we go into keychat why not have list after connect of people in your buddy, chat list. when looking in list it should state what the status is even if offline right now it not good system, also it not tell you uses status if have custom msg, also setup should be little smarter also like lot of chat clients they have pre-setings for like facebook, gchat, ichat, aim, and other jabbor type system. user should first pick type of service want setup and then enter information based on that, also why you not make it allow more then one servcie. This to me was put together quickly just so a NEW feature would be there and I don't think much throughts really went into it. 8. I wonder why use xbase and not better system? like sqlite which better you know gps sendor I think uses it and there system is quick and works good. not have same type issue xbase (keymail) has with currorpt system OK, last but I feel need be added ability for two device near each other talk to each other by allow share / sending of file, and also allow to chat each other using keychat, the programing has been done, how hard put it in mainstream development instead of only in DBC which who knows if will get version for Apex, which should be add on function not seperate firmware as that make it less updated able as show in mPower which not get much update like other people system. I ask that who need reply to this please PLEASE do so, I would like answers, this device cost lots money and deserve answer and respect. God Bless, Christopher E Hello Developers of Keysoft, As I say below in email that sent you about keychat I also just notice other issue with keychat that SHOULD NOT be issue but it is because it was not build right from start, tisk tisk on HW part. Keychat should when opening or creating a new conversation refresh the list of contact online, IT DOES NOT do this, I look on computer and can tell there are people online but keychat say they not, this is WRONG and NEED be fixed ASAP as if not know person online then what point of using keychat, again I feel that for money Apex cost and the time we waited for update it should have these things fixed. I say I warn you, every time I do something that SHOULD work, I will email about the issue intill each and ever issue has been fixed, we the users would be very happy if HW would take the time and make sure things was fixed beFORE addding new stuff. these issue have been awhile now and they NEED to be taken care of.
