Hi, Jerry,
That's weird. I've never had that happen. Usually though I
don't turn it on to use it right after unplugging it. I'm
usually wanting to move it somewhere else to use it. Still, I
don't ever recall that happen to me when I have started it after
unplugging it.

Subject: [Braillenote] An Issue Regarding Keyboard Behavior After
TakingApex BT off Wall Outlet Power
Reading Joseph's fine list of bugs reminded me of one of my
favorite
long-standing ones. For me, this one has been present since I
bought my
Apex BT a year ago, and I can't believe I haven't mentioned it
before. I
wonder if others have noticed it. It may not always happen, but
it often
does.
1. Plug your Apex into a wall outlet overnight to give it a full
charge.
2. Pull the power from the Apex and wait a while for it to
finish its
display about the AC adapter not being connected. Note that I
typically
have speech turned off, so I just get the braille display.
3. Turn on your Apex. Try hitting w to bring up the word
processor or b
to bring up the book reader. Nothing happens.
Actually, what often happens for me is that I turn on the Apex
and quickly
type space with o, c, w. This is supposed to get me to where I
can turn
wireless on or off, but I get the stopwatch instead.
I have discovered that if I now turn the Apex off and then turn
it on
again while holding down dot 8, the keyboard behavior returns to
normal
100% of the time. Have others noted this, and is it one of those
annoyances that would be really nice to have fixed?
Regards,
Jerry
