I was having the same problem with the Rich Text files on the
Apex a few months again before I updated. I'm not sure if it's
that way now, though.

Just another thing to add here. Sometimes, rich text attachments
sent through to the mpower do not work. It's important that you
tell the person sending the attachment to send in plain text.

Try rtf (rich text format) or word 97-2003. Also, there should
be no
tables, images, or other formatting aside from basic paragraph,
page,
and line breaks. Bold, italic, and other fonts should work fine,
though may not show in braille.

One strange thing that sometimes happens when I was trying to
read the attachments that were sent to me incorrectly was that
the word "to" would not be written right next to the word
following it. I'd take a word out and check again and sometimes
that would rectify the situation, timetimes it wouldn't. Also,
it did not show two spaces after paragraphs. Whenever I've
downloaded a book from Bookshare things work just fine. I can
tell the two spaces after a paragraph. So I'm hoping my Braille
Note is not too old to receive and proofread attachments. Just
need to know how the sender should save them. I did call
Humanware and they said that there would be three choices, and
not to add an extension onto the document before saving, that
the
extension would be added automatically. And which of the three
choices should be used? I wasn't told that. I gave this
information to the person trying to send the attachments but it
didn't help.
Thanks for any suggestions. Really hope someone will know the
answer. I know the Apex makes things much easier, but I don't
have it and doubt if I could get it.
