Congratulations on your Apex! The kng issues you mentioned can be duplicated on my machine, but I hardly notice them anymore. Eloquence with jaws has the same question mark oddity, so I never really thought about it.
The zipping process should copy the files, not delete them, so what you are seeing is accurate. After all, if you zip a few files just to send them in an email, how would you still have the originals?
