You are still using 9.02, right?
To update to 9.1, you'll need a number of hardware and software
components:
* The KeySoft 9.1 installation file (an hwi file).
* A license for KeySoft 9.1 (an hwl file).
* Your email address and serial number of your unit (the email
must be tied to the serial number of your unit).
* The AC adapter for the Apex (during the upgrade, AC power must
be required).
* A storage device to store the license and the upgrade file
(preferably an SD card, but Apex's Flash Disk will work as well).
The outline of steps are as follows:
1. Go to HumanWare License site (license.humanware.com). Have
your email address and serial number handy.
2. Log onto license site (select Log in, then from the list,
select BrailleNote Apex; then type your email address and your
serial number
(650320nnnnnn where six n's are the last six digits of your
serial number to the respective edit boxes).
3. Select the desired license from the list that appears (select
KeySoft 9.1), then download the license to a storage location
(None (root) folder of any storage device such as Apex's Flash
Disk, SD card, etc.).
4. Obtain KeySoft 9.1 installation file (from HumanWare website,
go to Support/BrailleNote Apex/Software/KeySoft 9.1/Download
link) and download the hwi to the None (root) folder of any
storage device (Apex's Flash Disk included).
5. Connect the AC adapter and restart your Apex (press the Reset
button). After this, KeySoft should say, "one license in/alled,"
followed by the question, "do you want to install KeySoft
version?" Answer yes.
Note that if you've downloaded the license and hwi to a storage
card, insert the card before you reboot Apex. If you've
downloaded these files using a computer, copy these files to the
root of either an SD card or a USB thumb drive (I recommend using
an SD card), then insert the card to the Apex before restarting
Apex.
Due to space issue, I cannot spell the steps in detail (at least
I gave you the outline for it). Please let us know if you have
