Hi again, listers,
I just discovered a potentially frustrating fault when using the shuffler. Thankfully, it has nothing to do with the shuffler itself. It is one's own bn that is at fault here. Unless you have your layout and page settings set the way I do, which
is impractical for embossing or printing, keysoft has a rather annoying tendency to wrap text onto multiple lines when it most definitely shouldn't! Especially in playlist files when you open them up using keyword.
I know exactly what to do to fix this, but I have to review the JavaScript syntax for regular expressions first. The good news for you all is, the steps you use to operate the playlist shuffler will not change as a result of me fixing it.
However, those of you to whom I've already given a copy should please delete the original keyword text file, and any custom shufflers made using it. This is because I will be changing the coding of the program itself.
I will send another announcement once I've given the program the ability to detect and compensate for the line-wrapping problem. You may still request copies of the program from me; just be aware that you won't get one until I fix the bug, which
shouldn't take more than a day. Know that I gladly receive your requests, and that I will respond in a timely fashion. I certainly don't mind doing a bcc en mass.
Also, regarding languages, I have no difficulty in writing in other languages. I can do that quite successfully, but my curiosity is whether or not one can switch the bn's operating system language. I admit to having no practical need to do this,
but if it can be done without adverse effects, I'm just curious to see keysoft operate in Spanish. I took 3 years of the language in high school, so I'd be able to switch back to English.
