One thought, back when I used to use an old NLS cassette machine.
When it's internal nicad battery went dead, the unit would not
work. Only after you removed the battery it would work on the
whimpy internal AC supply when plugged in. I don't know if this
is the same with the Apex, but maybe if you power up the Apex
without the battery at all, and do the 5 second hold of the reset
button, it may be resurrected! Hope springs eternal! Jim
