Hi,
Sorry for the late reply ...
Regarding your Apex, it seems to be a fault with the Flash Disk's file system/hardware. My hypothesis is that every time the Apex restarts, it creates Flash Disks with less and less storage, thus creating the havoc of manual installation and so forth (which are only seen when doing ROM Reset and after Flash Format). I think a format of the entire Flash could help, but I'm not sure if it'll wipe all partitions from flash chip so it'll return to the state when you received that particular unit. Let's see what HW has to say on this matter. For the mPower, it is prone to freezing on KeyWeb. First, ask your friend to use KeyNote Gold rather than Eloquence as the synthesizer, as it improves KeyWeb's performance quite a bit. Second, before doing a long proofread, that your friend should try a warm reset before doing this task, as more memory is availible for web browser to work with. Apex doesn't have this problem, but it is prone to occasional freezing which is due to size of KeySoft. Hope this helps. Could you ask your friend to join this list so your friend can receive feedback from others? Thanks.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] A couple of questions

Hi all listers,

I have two questions, one concerning an Apex and the other an mPower. I'll ask the Apex question first, as I would like to get this problem solved as soon as possible (the BN isn't mine.) By the way, it is a BT running version 9.0. A few days ago, I was on the internet when the BN froze. I did a regular reset with no keys held down. Right after the
startup tone, it began to install the manual and a bunch of other
things. When it had finished, I found that my flash disk was
completely gone. I reset again, and this time only the manual
reinstalled. Now I have something called a flash disk2 and a few bits and pieces of the original flash disk. The My Favorites folder and the None folder are still there. Also, every time I reset now, the manual reinstalls. Has anybody ever experienced anything like this before? If
so, does anyone know how to fix this?

The mPower question is actually for a friend of mine. Her mPower BT is running version 8.0, build 21. She used a feature of Bookshare that allowed her to proofread a book, then send in her report. There were two buttons at the end, a "done" button and a "submit" button. When she tried clicking the "submit" button, the BN did not respond. It displayed the message "click," but didn't do anything else. The "done" button worked just fine. I have also seen this come up on other web sites, where some buttons work and some don't. Does anyone know why
this would happen?

Thank you all in advance,
Esperanza
