Hit backspace with dot 4. In 8 dot braille, the dot 7 (backspace) acts like capitalizing, which is what space-u does in 6 dot mode. To look up symbols, go to a place where computer braille is required and press backspace-3-5 (you may need to press space with this). Then use space-f to search for the symbol you want.
