Here are the steps for creating a macro for a unicode character on your Apex
qwerty. For those using bt keyboards who want to learn, BT commands are in
brackets.]
1. Press function with x. [Backspace with dots 35.]
2. Find the unicode character in the tables as if you planned to insert it
but don't press enter.
3. When the character is announced or you see it on the braille display,
press control with k. [backspace with k.]
4. Press the letter a [dot 1] to assign a macro.
5. Type the keys you want to use and press enter. [press braille keys for
the characters you want to use and press enter.]
6. You will be prompted to confirm your keys. Press y [dots 13456] for yes
or n [dots 1345] for no. In the prompt, the command to invoke the macro,
shift function C, [backspace with enter with h or space with u] will appear
before your keys. For example, if you wanted to use the keys ec as a macro
for e acute, the prompt would say, "Assign shift function with c ec to e
acute." ["Assign backspace with enter with h or space with u ec for e
acute?"]
7. To invoke the macro, press shift function c. [backspace enter with h or
space with u] Then press the keys for the macro. For example, to invoke the
macro ec, you would hold down the shift and function keys and press the
letter c. [hold down backspace and enter keys then press h or space with u]
Then you would type ec and press enter.
I hope this is helpful.
