Hi all,
I wanted to let you know about a program I wrote for the PC that
lets you browse and download from Bookshare. Please note that
this is a PC program, NOT a program for the bn family. However,
it may make it easier to find and download books, since I imagine
most people are not using the bn for this anymore as the site is
so slow. My program has the following features:
* search Bookshare by author, title, full text, and more
* save searches to a favorites list so you can quickly pull them
up later
* limit searches to a particular grade and/or category, if
desired
* automatically unzip the downloaded book (optional
* it's free, and even open-source
Once again, I want to stress that this will NOT run on the bn and
is intended for Windows only. Hopefully, a version for Mac will
be out soon.
The following link will let you download the program. Please
save the file, then right-click it and select "run as
administrator" (in Vista, you may have to hold down control while
you right click to see this option).

The source is on Github; search for me, mehgcap, and select the
DBC repo.
As I update this software, I will email this list. The best way

beta software (though it so far seems very stable and I have not
run into any problems) and is NOT, NOT, NOT meant to run on the
bn family at all.
