Hi,
Below are some suggestions from listers and some personal suggestions for HW's considerations (that I and others hope would come later in a future version of KeySoft): * More enhanced and smarter calculator: I, too agree that KeyPlus could be more useful if more useful functions are added to make it smarter. For instance, a way of converting different conversion types such as length, volume and such, as well as more added scientific functions such as factorial and number base conversions. * Bitrate: We noticed that bitrate info is shown only on wma files. Is it possible to put this function back for other file formats such as mp3's? Thanks. * PowerPoint reader: I agree with a lister's suggestion that a PPT reader or a converter would be a nice option, since students use PowerPoint for presentations. Although there might be a workaround such as using BN as a braille display for a computer that has presentation already, having a way to read those on braille from the BrailleNote (in KeySoft style) would be beneficial. * User participation through programming: We ask once again: would it be possible for talented people to write programs that'll run directly under KeySoft as extensions, such as what Sendero is doing with GPS? That way, we can showcase our talents and, as a note of thanks to HumanWare staff and fellow users, we could come up with useful programs such as games, utilities and so forth that'll truly bring Apex's (and mPower's) potential to up front. As of now, we use web applets to do some cool stuff, but having opportunities to actually showcase something "real" in KeySoft as extensions would be a useful tool for us to continue with our studies and to open possibilities for utilizing Apex's availible hardware. Thanks. * SDXC support: According to SD Association, the current SDHC standard allows up to 2 TB (Terabyte) of storage but is limited to 32 GB. Some say that SDHC slots with firmware upgrades would support SDXC standard. Would it be possible to perhaps have this option of supporting SDXC (;STD 3.0) cards so that we can use cards of 64 GB and higher? If that's the case, we can have more GPS maps, more storage for valuable books and so forth. * SSL updates: Some mentioned about security alerts popping up when the certificate name is not the one that Apex expects from a website. Coupled with popularity of Windows Live email, would it be possible to see some updates to SSL algorithms? Thanks. As for other suggestions such as docx reading/writing capability, I'm sure people have emailed you for a long time, so I dare not repeat them. Hope to see your reply soon from the company.
Sincerely,
