Hi,
If you see failed conccnect message, try:
1. Put your Apex in terminal mode. From Main Menu, go to
Terminal, and at the connection port, prompt, select Bluetooth
and press ENTER.
2. Try connecting this time. From Bluetooth settings window,
select connect. Hopefully it should not give you failed message.
If it does connect, then the next step would be restarting JAWS.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi. Yes, I was promped for the pass code, and I entered 0000 as
directed by humanware. I also tried to let it use a default
code, both
had the same result, the message failed to connect.
I also tried to turn off bluetooth on both devices, rebooted both
devices and tried again, actually, probably 20 or 30 times with
the
same result.
I made sure my pc is running the latest toshiba bluetooth stack.
I even went as far as to uninstall the stack and reinstalled it
from a
download to make sure I had the latest stack and drivers.
it's almost like the apex is refusing the pass code for some
reason.
I have successfully paired bluetooth headset with this pc, so I
know
that much works.
It does ask me if I wish to use express, custom, or classic when
searching for a bluetooth device. if I choose express, it
attempts to
use a pan server. nothing seems to happen if I choose classic,
so I
have choosen custom which then allows me to choose serial or pan.
I
choose serial of course.
very puzzling.
Thanks

Hi,
Were you asked to put in a passcode? If not, then you might want
to turn off Bluetooth on both PC and Apex, restart Bluetooth on
Apex, restart Bluetooth on PC and try reconnecting. I had this
issue once and this solved the problem.

HI.
I am using the Toshiba bluetooth.
The problem I am having is:
I can not get the pc to pair with the apex.
I select serial service, and then uncheck the use default comm
port,
because it wants to use port 40. I have tried selecting port 6,
7, 8, and 9.
Each time, the system tells me that is no connection. When I
tell it to
connect, I get the message:
Connection failed.
It does show the apex with my serial number and mac address, so
it is seeing
it, just not making the connection.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
What Bluetooth driver - Toshiba, Witcom, etc. are you uiing? I
assume
you've initiated the pairing process from the PC. If that's the
case, don't
configure JAWS settings until Apex was connected from your PC,
because the
com port that PC thinks that Apex is connected might not be the
one that
JAWS is looking for. Also, when choosing the braille display,
select
BrailleNote signed.
Cheers,
Joseph

I have been attempting to get my apex running keysoft 9l.2.0 to
be
recognized as a Braille display under jaws 13 via Bluetooth.
I have installed the humanware jaws drivers, and assigned comm.
port 2 to be
used.
I turned on Bluetooth on the apex.
I have attempted to connect to the apex via Bluetooth from my
pc.
I selected serial for the connection type.
I get the error
"connection failed"
If anyone has successfully gotten an apex to pair via Bluetooth
with a pc
under windows 7, or anyone has any suggestions, I would
appreciate hearing
about it.
Many thanks.
Phil
