Hi,
Sounds like some chip issue underneath the display by the motherboard. I guess sending it to HW was a right thing to do.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] Apex Refreshable Braille Display

Hi all,Last week my Apex 32 cell display went haywire, only displaying the first 13 cells, the rest only displayed x's. A call to Humanware told me that something in the display broke and it needed to be returned for repairs. Just one weekshy of its warranty ending. Phew! While I am thankful that it is covered, I amconcerned that it had a problem to begin with. This is my third Braille Note. I have owned a classic and an Empower, and I have never had a problem with any of their displays and they had been dropped knocked off tables and probably worse. This unit had no such traumas. I had been using it, turned it off, and an hour later turned it back on to discover the display broken. Again, customer service was very nice and hopefully my unit won't be gone too long, but I am curious if any of you have heard of their being a problem with the apex display?
