Hi:

Recording in MP3 is possible and was first suggested about 5 years ago. Why we do not have this
yet is only that no one has recently been pushing Humanware.

Of course a kit for free-lance programmers is needed, perhaps one like GWMicro's applications for Window-Eyes, where the applications are screened first by Humanware, might work.

I think they should also include a tool for converting media
files to MP3, or (this would be really nice) change the memo
recording settings to record in MP3 instead of WAV, or at least
provide an option for people who want to record in MP3 in the
recording settings. Maybe we could make this progress happen a
lot faster if HW put out an SDK.

I think that in either the next version or next build of Keysoft,
whether they continue making Keysoft
for the Mpower or not), I think that the Media Player should
recognize OGG files. OGG'S are
popular among users of sites such as Wikipedia. Also, the next
version of Keysoft (which I
assume is for Apex) should have a Bittorrent. Their are a lot of
TOR files on the internet, and
I think that Braillenotes should be able to seek the files and
give you the mp3 or whatever it was
supposed to be.
