I'm having the exact same problem. I use an Apex with KeySoft
9.2.
When I had 9.1, this didn't happen. I was able to download files
as I pleased.

I have a wireless router with wide open security. I am trying to
download files from www.4shared.com<http://www.4shared.com/>. I
get the link to click on and the message asking me where I want
to save the file. When I pick the default or even when I change
the filename to and .mp3 file I get a message that says
File failed to download. Any thoughts on this?
