Yes, what I ended up doing was reinstalling the latest software update and
that did the trick. Thanks though for your suggestion.

Did you press space-x repeatedly until you saw all files, not just all
documents, in the folder? Are the files perhaps in a sub-folder that
you didn't realize was there?
