Hello,
Unfortunately, there is no way to route a message to any phone carrier. You have to know the domain that goes after the At sign.

Subject: [Braillenote] a little bit off topic; texting using email

Hello. I'm submitting this to this list because a lot of Braillenote users are familiar with email. Most of the time, when someone sends a text message (SMS) through email, they are service-provider specific. For example, if you wanted to text someone with a Virgin Mobile cell phone, you would put "number at vmobl.com" in the box. But what about those radio and television offers that give out those five-digit texting ID things? Is there a host out there that, when put after the at sign, it will route it to the proper provider? A host that, when put after an at sign, will automatically reroute it to Virgin if it is a Virgin Mobile phone, or reroute it to Verizon for a Verizon phone? Is there an email-Sms reroute address that will send the message to whatever phone number or
texting ID you put in there?
