Hi folks,
Well, at last I've managed to network with Windows 7 computer -
with one problem remaining:
To share a folder on a Windows 7 computer with a BrailleNote:
1. Go to the folder where you wish to share it.
2. Open Properties.
3. Go to Sharing tab and select Advanced Sharing.
4. Type the name you wish to refer to this folder, then select
Permissions.
5. Under permissions, check full control, change and read
checkboxes then click OK.
6. Then go back to the Advanced Sharing page and click Close,
then at properties, click OK.
To access the shared folder, you'll need to know the name of your
computer and the folder name you wish to access, as attempting to
list the shared folders on Windows 7 gives the error, "the server
cannot perform the requested operation," indicating access
denial. Then:
1. Go to any prompt that asks for drive and select Network.
2. At the "network place" prompt, press space to move to browse.
3. At the "server name" prompt, type the name of the computer
you wish to access.
4. At the folder prompt, type the name of the shared folder, as
attempting to list them gives access error. Then you'll be asked
to name the network place. Type the name and you'll see
"directory" prompt, indicating you're in the network.
The only problem, as stated above, is access denial/operation
rejection error when attempting to list shared folders on a
Windows 7 computer. I hope that's something that can be fixed in
a future. Thanks.
Happy networking,
Joseph
