Hi folks,
The below is intended for KeySoft writers and HW tech support but thought you should see this as well for the benefit of the user community: Hi, I'm using KeySoft 9.2.1053 on an Apex BT. I (and others) noticed a number of features that indicates that there are some Bluetooth profiles that are not utilized yet under KeySoft, or the readme states Apex supports such profile while PC (and other devices) say it doesn't. Thus, we'd like to seek clarification on what's going on in regards to utilized Bluetooth profiles and are there hidden things which allows other (not shown) profiles to be utilized by users.
So far, we know that:
* Bluetooth Serial Port Profile is used to allow Apex to act as a Bluetooth display, print or emboss, and connect to GPS receivers. * Bluetooth Headset Profile is used to connect Bluetooth headsets. * Bluetooth DUN (Dial-Up Network) is mainly used to connect to the Internet via cell phones with tethering plans. According to KeySoft 9.0 readme and based on some features present in file manager, we'd like to know the usage of the following Bluetooth profiles in regards to known functionalities present on the Apex: * Hands-Free: We'd like to know the context in which this service is utilized and which KeySoft features take advantage of this. * File Transfer Profile (FTP): we see that, under file manager, there is a facility to export to and import from a Bluetooth device. Is this used between two Apex's or can this be done to transfer files between an Apex and a PC or other Bluetooth devices? * Bluetooth PAN (Personal Area Network) service: It has been mentioned on the 9.0 readme that Apex can utilize this service for networking with a PC. Could you elaborate on this, what KeySoft features use this profile and how to use it?
And we'd like to know the procedure on the following:
* It was stated in KeySoft 9.0 readme that Bluetooth can be used to connect to the Internet via PC's network connection. Could you explain this a bit further? * As stated above, a number of users found that there might be some facility to transfer files between Bluetooth devices using Apex. We'd like to know how this can be done (either between Apexes or between an Apex and a PC or other device). We (the Apex users) hope to get your response soon. Thanks for your considerations.
Sincerely,
Joseph Lee
