That is odd, but it also sounds like a rather specialized thing that not many people would pick up on. I would email hw support and/or give them a call to see what's going on with this. If it has not been fixed in 9.2, they will at least know about it. For music recording, though, keep in mind that the bn is a notetaker and is not meant to be a professional recording device by any means. Your friend may want to look into a computer with high-quality sound hardware and recording equipment for studio-quality music recording.
