Which format are you using for books? Are you using the native keyword format? Plain braille? ! other text format (such as Microsoft word or RTF)? If you are using the native Keyword format, then you can use the place marker feature in either the word processor or the book reader. Then, your students do not even have to bother using the "go to" command. Instead, they type a simple command and then the letter of the place marker which has been defined. This functionality does not work in BRF, TXT, DOC or other file formats, because KeySoft cannot save the place marker data in these types of files. For more information about this feature, you can refer to section 3.19 of the User Guide. If you are using non-native formats, I suggest importing them into the Keysoft format for your students (or having them do it).

Hi,

Recently I obtained a few Mpowers for my students. They need to be able to find their spot quickly in books as the class reads them. Is it better to
have them read the books in the book reader or in Key Word.

I have been asking them to use Key Word because they can drop a string such as xxx to mark their spot when done reading and easily search for their last
save the next day.  But there must be a better way.

When the teacher says open your book to page 172, I have the kids do a space 126 and jump to that page then search for a string of words where they will begin reading. This is often not fast enough. How do you do it? Are there
advantages to using the book reader that I just don't know?

Are there any pod casts on using the BN in the classroom that would be
helpful?  These are 3rd and 6th graders.

Appreciate your thoughts and tips.
