Hi Allison,

Hmm!! Your situation has me puzzled. When I go into Bookshare, I only get the security alerts just after I sign in. I get three of them, and that is it. I just tried downloading some books in BRF. I did it two ways, from a list of books that I got from a search, and then on the individual 's book's page. I did not get the security alert any of the times I downloaded. I don't know what the difference would be.

A question, are you signing in when you first get to the Bookshare site? Also, you should only have to press the "yes butt" once. I don't think that twice will hurt anything but ...

If this doesn't help, I guess the next thing would be to find out exactly what the alerts are saying. That might in the end give us a clue.

Debby

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] A question about security alert dialog

Hi,
It's tempting to say that this is a Keyweb issue, but it isn't really. Every time I go to the Bookshare site on my PC I get those dialogs, too, though less often. Once I've said yes to proceed regardless of the security issue, both my PC and my Braillenote should remember the answer, so invariaby I'm tempted to shout "yes, I've told you once already, dammit, leave me alone!". Quite a while back I spoke to an old friend who does tech support for Bookshare and, although he gave me some suggestions, they didn't seem to solve the problem. So, I plan
to stop by both the Bookshare and Humanware booths at the CSUN
conference and bend their ears about this issue. Bookshare should fix
its security certificates on their site, and Keyweb needs to be
tweaked so that if you tell it to disregard the security issue it
won't come back to ask you over and over and over and bug you to
death.

Hello,
Every time I try to download a Bookshare book, I get the security alert dialog. I space down through all of it and hit enter twice
on yes. It pops up several more times before I get to the book,
which I download with no problems.
When it comes back to the choices of download types, I do the go
back command and the security alert dialog comes up again. If I
do the go back command again it then goes back to the book. If I do the go back command again, I get an exception and all I can do
is reset.
My questions are, what can I do to keep the security alert dialog
from coming up multiple times at the beginning of this whole
process, and how can I avoid this exception so that I don't have
to reset?
