Hi,
As Alex mentioned, sounds like corrupted KeySoft image. Leave it plugged for five minutes (to see if sufficient battery level is reached), then try a warm reset. If it fixes it, then it's a small hiccup. If not, try the following reset procedures in order (one after the other if one does not fix it): Hard Reset (hold down reset button for five seconds), Clear Settings Reset (Reset with DOTS 4-5-6 or JKL) then Clean Reset (Reset with DOTS 1-2-3 or FDS). If Clean Reset did not fix it (if it still shows failure message), then its time for some troubleshooting work with HW (unless HW gave you a reply). But bst, if you spoke to HW over the phone, could we hear their response so that we (the users) can take a note on it for future? And if HW asked you to try something, listen to them first (like Alex said, HW's words overrides expert opinions). Thanks.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] Question

My only thought is to try a re-install of keysoft using an empty sd card (I say empty so you don't lose any data off the card, though that is a remote possibility). A kernel load failure is a serious, very low-level problem that suggests a corruption somewhere on your flash or keysoft system disk (probably the latter). Of course, if hw said
not to try this, for whatever reason, their word superceeds mine.

When I turn on my BN Apex 18 it will beep and say starting keysoft

Thanks, Chandra
