Hello Jim, I use a MPower and have been using smtp port 465 for years with no problem until today. It doesn't make any sense at all to me that it would work this morning and then just quit working later in the day. I have tryed deleting and re-creating the contact as well as trying ports 25 and 587 with no luck. I do have a workaround but I would much rather for the issue be fixed.
Sincerely,
John

Subject: [Braillenote] April Fools and Error 554

First, you really got me Joseph. Unfortunately, that stuff about
KeySoft 5.3 really sucked me in, especially the part about open source stuff. I thought, finally! We will get Skype or something like it on our BNS’s. Well personally, I think you are too smart to work for HumanWare though I wish you could help them fix their stuff.
OKSecondly, , now about the Error 554 Possible Email Abuse that
John mentioned getting when using Yahoo email. That’s what I have ben writing about on this list and the same error I have been getting on my Apex since February 24th. I have an email from a Tier Two tech at AT&T who states that they made some changes around that time. I don’t think the email said that they had actually caused the problem but they at least are acknowledging that it is in fact, a problem and are trying to deal with it. However, having said that, I think it is incumbant on each and every one of us who is experiencing this issue with Yahoo, AT&T, SBCglobal or whomever, that we All contact them and complain loud and long until they FIX the problem. Don’t settle for the Gmail solution that has been suggested to me by HumanWare support as well as AT&T tier two tech support. I know it is one solution, but I for one feel that we need to draw a line in the sand on this one since we Apex users did Not cause this problem. AT&T, HumanWare, or both of them need to be held to account and Fix The Problem. Thank you very much. Now that’s no April Fools joke though I really wish it was. Best regards, Jim
