Hello BrailleNote users
If you have found that recently you have been unable to send
emails with
your BrailleNote through your AT&T based internet service
provider, you
will be happy to know that a simple modification to your
BrailleNote's
email account settings fixes this problem. Recently AT&T has
made changes
to their email settings as a part of increased security against
spammers.
To allow your BrailleNote's email account to be accepted by
AT&T's
servers, make sure your name in your account settings is
capitalized. To
make this modification do the following:
1. From the main menu press e for email.
2. Press space until you find "Setup options," and press enter.
3. Press D to enter the directory of email accounts.
4. Press L to look up an account.
5. Press the space bar once and find your email account using
the space
with dots 5-6 or 2-3 commands to move forward or backward through
your
different accounts, (right and left arrows on a BrailleNote QT
unit.)
6. Once you find your account, space to the field labeled "Your
Name?" and change it by pressing backspace with C, (control with
K on
QT units.)
7. Capitalize the first letter of your name in this field and
press
enter.
8. Exit out of the account settings and press Y to accept the
changes.
You will now be able to send emails through AT&T servers again
successfully. If you have further questions on this process,
