Hi,
I used to own a classic. I only used it for wireless
connections, among other things, but you will need an ethernet
card that plugs into the compact flash slot. I'm not sure about
the settings though. That depends on your service provider.
They should give you the info on what settings you need.

Subject: [Braillenote] Still can't hook my classic up to the
internet.
Hi. I have a BrailleNote classic that I have been trying to hook
up to the internet. I can't make it work. I don't have dial up
but there is an option to use a network connection. I have a
modem cable with one end plugged in to the wall and the other end
in the classic. I am running keysoft 5.0. Does anyone have a
classic with keysoft 5.0? If so then can you please tel me what
settings you use? I have tried lots of different settings. I
still can't hook up to the internet. The classic has no internet
connection but the other computers on the network do. Do I need
to put in a phone number when I have it set to network connection
or just when it is set to use the internal modem? I have tried
with and without a phone number. I have tried the phone number
with and without dashes in it. If I do need to use a phone
number
then do I need the dashes in it or not? I have also tried setting
wait for dial tone to both yes and no. I have also tried
setting
log on to network to both yes and no. Nothing will work. What
about software compression? What do I do with that? What other
settings should I try? One last thing. When I hook up to the
internet with my apex with the wire I don't need a password or
user name or dns address. Does that mean that I can leave those
three things blank on the classic as well? I am using the same
network for both apex and classic. Thanks.
