Although it is weird that usb drives warm up like this sometimes, I don't believe it's anything to worry about. I've never seen anything happen as a result of the heat gain. Having said that, I believe it says in the manual that it's best to operate a bn in the temperature range of an indoor environment. As with any computer, the cooler air will pull heat away from anything that gets too hot. What I'm far more concerned with is how easily these braille displays get messed up. I had my display cleaned about six months ago, and some of the dots are already beginning to fade, which is extremely unsettling. I do have somewhat oily skin, but I try to keep my hands pretty clean around the bn. Still, though, I never had this problem with the Braille Lites I used during middle and high school. I never noticed any performance issues with their displays. If any hardware should be improved on our machines, it should be the parts used in the display. Then again, I am using an mPower, so maybe you apex users don't have this issue. I would be very envious if you don't, but at the same time, that would be awesome. I remember a post a while back about someone using a certain kind of wipes to clean a display, but I don't think that person said the kind they use because he or she didn't know. If anyone else does this, could you please tell me what I should get? I wouldn't want to get wipes that would mess things up rather than help.
