Subject: [Braillenote] Uploading files to ftp server using the Apex

Hi, if ever you need to upload something to an ftp server and you
have a BrailleNote Apex but no PC, try http://www.net2ftp.com
(for speech users: that is the number 2, so n e t 2 f t p). I
used it over the past two days and it actually works very nicely
with the Apex, except perhaps for downloading multiple files from
the ftp server at once.
Note that on the login page one of the things you select is
"skin" which will probably default to "mobile". Choose "blue"; it
will give you many more options once you are logged in.
Sometimes when you click on a link or button you get a lengthy
error message which ends in "Locate?". Press y and you will see
the usual BrailleNote drive prompt. Exit out of this (I did this
using the "previous" thumb key) and net2ftp will do whatever it
was supposed to do, e.g. log you out.
I don't know what happens if you press n though; perhaps it will
work right away and save you the trouble of exiting out of the
drive prompt.
If you choose "upload" you will initially see two buttons for
selecting files. Each of those has an "add file" button next to
it. The second one is for zip files and other archives; the first
one is for html, audio, image and similar files. Press the "add
file" button and you can add another file. Looks to me like you
can upload only two files at a time unless you zip up all the
html files and upload the archive which should automatically be
unzipped for you (haven't tried this).
I don't know if it works with the Classic and the mPower but I
guess it doesn't hurt to try if you want to.

Happy uploading!

Have a great day.

Ilona
