Hi, Tom,

If you opened the file as a .doc, then computer braille should work. But if you translated the file into KeyWord braille, then you would type the number in literary braille using the number sign dots 3,4,5,6 and the numbers in the upper part of the cell.

By the way, someone was in error when he/she said the computer braille number sign was dot 5,6. The computer braille symbol given as the number sign is the semicolon. You shouldn't have to use any number sign at all, but the number sign symbol is dots 3,4,5,6.

Subject: [Braillenote] Finding numbered items in a Word Document broughtinto the Braille Note

Hi, all.

So far, your suggestions for finding specific items, and specific pages, in Microsoft Word documents, have been working, but I have one instance that is
stumping me.

Even though I'm taking over the Department Head position at the University
where I work, I will still be teaching on occasion, and am trying to figure
out how to find specific questions on multiple-choice exams that I give.

For example, if I bring the document into the Braille Note Word processor,
and do a control F for find, how do I indicate the question number? I have tried control F followed by 32 in nemeth code without the number sign, but
no luck.

Do I need the number sign? If so, what is it in computer Braille?

Thanks!

Dr. Tom Behler from Michigan
