Hi Lois,

Try this procedure:

1. Plug in the USB connection to both the computer and the BrailleNote.
2. Turn on the Braille terminal on the Apex by pressing t from the main
menu, then u for USB client, then enter.
3. Turn JAWS off.
4. Restart JAWS. If you look at the Braille display after you restart JAWS,
it should show what JAWS has just read. If JAWS has just said "JAWS for
Windows is ready," the Braille display should read "start JAWS."

Please keep us posted and let us know if this works!

Hope this helps,

Chris

Subject: [Braillenote] using apex as braille display with jaws

Hi all,

I just got my new Apex this week. I have been trying to set up a USB
connection to my PC without any luck. I am using jaws 9 and windows XP.

I have the drivers and have followed the directions about changing the port
number.

Does anyone have any ideas I might try. I did manage a bluetooth
connection.

Thank you.

Lois
