No, you can just ring them and they'll talk you through it.  As you described 
the problem, it sounds just like mine and I rang HW and they sorted out and it 
works perfectly now.

No.  You will have to send the unit into Humanware for repair if you want a new 
spacebar.  As far as I know, the only part for your BN that you can order 
separately is an extra battery.
