Hi,
The QT version is CTRL with SPACE, with unconfirmed reports
saying that SPACE with DOTS 1-6 for toggling backwards is CTRL
with BACKSPACE. To read power status, press READ with ESC.
Also, for Tom and others: here's the layout of the QT keyboard
and equivalent keys for BT and external keyboards:
* Top: ESC, 1 through 0, HYPHEN, EQUALS, BACKSPACE.
* Second row: TAB, Q, W, E, R, T, Y, U, I, O, P, left bracket,
right bracket, BACKSLASH.
* Third row: READ (Alt on external keyboards), A, S, D, F, G, H,
J, K, L, semicolon, apostrophe, ENTER.
* Fourth row: Left Shift, Z, X, C, V, B, N, M, comma, period,
Right Shift, UP ARROW, Slash.
* Bottom row: CTRL, HELP, MENU, FN (or Functionn), SPACE, REPEAT,
DELETE, grav, LEFT ARROW, DOWN ARROW, RIGHT ARROW.
I have to double-check the bottom two rows (hope I got these rows
right).
Few usage notes:
* HELP: You can use either HELP key or FN with 1 (F1 on regular
keyboards).
* REPEAT: you can use the dedicated key or FN with 2 (F2 on
regular keyboards).
* MENU: You can use the dedicated key or you can use FN with 3
(F3 or Windows key on PC keyboards).
* Swithitching tasks: To switch tasks, use FN with S to either:
open the task menu (Apex) or go keep press FN with S to cycle
through possible tasks. Or use the task shortcuts (FN with
number rows between 4 to 0 (4 for KeyWord, 5 for KeyPlus, 6 for
KeyPlan, 7 for KeyList, 8 for KeyMail, 9 for KeyBook, 0 for
KeyWeb); on regular keyboards, it'll be F4 to F10). The FN key
on regular keyboards is usually the right Alt.
* Document navigation: if you've used JAWS on laptops (or used
laptop layout) before, most of the navigation commands are
similar - the READ key is placed where caps lock is located on PC
keyboards. The difference is moving in larger increments and
moving to top and bottom of file.
* Modifier functions: The READ key (usually left Alt on PC
keyboards) is used mostly for reading functions. CTRL is used
for editing while FN is used for system-wide tasks such as date
and time query, switching tasks and so forth (exceptions exist).
* Other keys: For HOME, END, PAGE UP and PAGE Down, use FN with
LEFT, RIGHT, UP and DOWN arrows, respectively (like on some
laptops.. Calculator uses right-hand side of alphanumeric
section for numpad (again if you've used a laptop before, you
know that some laptops allow embedded numpad to be used with FN
keys (JKL for 123, UIO for 456 and so forth)).
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] QT Toggle
List,
I've just started using a BrailleNote QT. I often use space +
dots 34
to toggle among choices when using the Apex BT. Is there a
command
such as this with the QT?
Also, other than space with o, then letter p, is there a shorter
way
to check the power status on the QT?
Thanks much.
Rosa
