Hi Tom,
I was fascinated by your problem this morning and tried to figure
it out, however, then I had to go to work. Well, I believe it was
the blank documents that caused the problem. I just created a
.doc file and left it blank, and I got an error when I tried to
open it. Gosh the ol' Apex gets picky about stuff! Ha! Ha!
Glad you figured it out.

Hi, all.
Well, I might have solved my problem.
First, I did another re-set.
In addition, I erased the original four files, and created
completely new
ones.
The earlier files were blank, in that there was no text in them.
I put text in the new files, and they seem fine now.
So, either the re-set, or the inclusion of text in the files must
have been
the solution.
At least I'll have two possible fixes, should the problem happen
again.

I think that could be a problem with the software but I'm not
sure. I
believe it's just time you called HumanWare.
