Hi,
It is preferable to save them as either Word 2003 doc or text document.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] opening rtf file created on computer

I created a file on my computer using MS Word 2010 and saved it as a .rtf
document. I chose rtf figuring it would be the most "vanilla"
transparent file type for my Apex to open. No such luck!
When I open the file I am greeted with an empty document except the the ed
sign followed by letters lge. Does anybody know what I can do so that I can
read the document?
Yes, I already checked the beginning and the end of the document for
possible extraneous characters which might throw off the Apex.
Thanks for any assistance.
Elizabeth
