Hi, First, I'd like to thank Josh K for this valuable info on accessing license keys. Based on Josh's comments and confirmation from others, I decided to do some experiments with it. Here are some results: * License partition: the so-called "licenses" folder is not really a folder - it is a separate Flash partition of its own. This explains why BARD keys work on Apex when installed. Also, it is about 10 MB in size. * When a license file (hwl) file is installed, a copy would remain in the licenses partition for a crucial reason: the license stored in the file tells KeySoft to unlock a particular extension (or, in case of KS product key, KeySoft itself after a warm reset). If the files in there are deleted or moved, the license keys associated with these files will be deleted next time a warm reset occurs. To reinstate a removed license key, copy the hwl file to the licenses partition. * A license file is composed of two parts: the hwl file container itself, which contains sort of a registry key (or activation key) to unlock certain extensions which depends on the presence of the extensions themselves. When a ROM (DOTS 1-2-3/FDS) reset is performed, the hwl file would remain, with the extensions themselves being removed. Since the activation code in the hwl file would be there but with no extensions to associate with, the licenses gets "stuck", thereby requiring the installation of the extensions to reactivate them. The exceptions are KeySoft product key (attached to the currently running KeySoft version), BARD key (since it'll be removed when this reset is done) and Sendero GPS license key (which uses a different method of authorizing a unit to run GPS program). * To access the licenses partition, go to file Manager, select directory/browse, then do one of the following: A. Select Flash Disk, then type "/../licenses" without quotes then press ENTER. The next time you come to drive prompt, the root drive name (backslash) will be presented. B. Select Flash Disk, then type "/../" (without quotes), exit to drive prompt, select the root drive then type "/licenses", ENTER. The next time you see the drive prompt, you'll see "licenses". The second method is useful to check the size of the licenses partition: once in licenses partition (when "list of files in none folder" is displayed, press SPACE with I/Read+I to display licenses partition size. The above two methods can also be used to access Windows folder on Apex's root drive, which I think is simpler than modifying printer settings. Cheers, Joseph
