I have to take some exception to the comments that one must use head
phones with an apex to get reasonable reception. I currently use a
booksense and fm plays through the speakers with no difficulty. They
have solved the problem by requiring the user to plug in an earphone
which acts an antenna. One then has the choice to listen to the audio
through the earphone or speakers. True you have a wire dangling from
your unit but it would seem to solve the problem and works reasonably well.
Given the price of the apex its a bit disturbing to see the number of
things it apparently doesn't do. Should be interesting to see how the
new icon unit using android compares.
