Hi Tom,
Have you found a pattern, such as activities before turning the unit off and
so forth? I'm leaning more towards memory and/or CPU busyness or power issue
(mostly electronics).

No, I don't think so.  When this problem occurs, I don't see any indication
on the display that one-handed mode is active.  I know how to switch in and
out of one-handed mode by holding down the backspace key while powering on,
and that's definitely not happening. Nice try, though, Tyler; it was a good
guess and one that I definitely thought about before posting my query.
