The reason given is that the company that runs the hw list, which is not actually hw, will stop hosing said list in a few weeks. Even though the list is at list.humanware.com, the list management is done through a third party. So, hw has no choice but to seek a list elsewhere. Yes, they could have started a list on their own, but they asked some active community members to do it first. After all, a lot of major companies don't run support lists, so they would be within their right to abandon this list altogether. That said, I agree that their lack of participation in list topics is troubling, and I really wonder what would have happened had Joseph not agreed to take on this project.
