In my previous message, I referred to information given on the Plextor
PTR1 list. Below is the message indicating the problem with some newer CF
cards. This is of concern to me because I was about to go shopping for
one of the new multi gig CF cards and now have to put that purchase on
hold until I hear if these problems will also show up in my Voice Note.

Dear Lister,
We, plextor would like to release second announcement regarding to the
compatibility for CF card.
Recently we have received the faulty report for CF card from customer
which are listed below.
1)Sandisk 512MB
2)Expancy 512MB
3)Viking 1GB
The reason of faulty at PTR1 is related the controller chip at inside of CF
card
which has been changed recently without notice.
Compatible type card or Non compatible card type have been mixed in the
market
which can not recognize in appearance either serial No.
In view of the above reason, all the CF card has been removed in compatible
list
until we solve the matter of compatibility for CF card.
Alternatively, we will supply the compatible CF card via our local
distributors in
the near future.
And needless say that we are going to meet with update CF type at next
firmware update.
