I agree! This is not a debating society list! This list is to provide information about the BN, VN family of products. I for one applaud any organization which helps in some way make this fine technology available to any blind person. If one does not like the major organizations, start a foundation and provide some needed help to blind persons instead of wasting your energy whining on this list! There are plenty of lists available where one can whine and complain or debate as they like! I don't think this debating belongs here at all unless it deals with how the BN does or does not function. I realize this is as I see it since I am simply a member and have nothing to do with the operation of this list. I don't think the 5 percent discount for NFB Members will diminish my appreciation for this product in any way! Then again, I am an NFB member. I won't be able to utilize this discount since I have had my BN for two years now unless I purchase another unit and I don't plan to do so presently. An ACB discount won't matter to me either! I think there is plenty of room for providing needed services for bringing this technology to the forefront. Some have mentioned how they would like to have access to a BN or VN while their unit is in the shop! I for one would like to find a suitable way to try this technology before I buy it! There are so many ways people could use their brains only if they would do so! This needless debating and whining is certainly a waste of good brain power! I think Jonathan Mosen said it very well in his posts on the subject! I admonish each of you here to use your BN to the fullest and appreciate all of its capabilities. Should it come up short, try to make suggestions in a suitable fashion! If you are still so taken back by the NFB providing a discount to its members or to anyone who might qualify for the discount, show your discontent in your purchasing! A few of you certainly have the money to buy any number of notetakers at the drop of a hat! I know one or two persons on this list who could do so! You know who you are! I'm not referring to anyone affiliated with PDI, I'm speaking of list members only! I'm not mentioning any names! I'd believe more in the sincerity of what they post if they actually helped others purchase a BN or VN who really needed it! No doubt I said too much so let's try to keep the politics out of things and stay true to the purpose of this list!

Thank you from not only myself but those who really are interested in the BN!

Come on, guys. We are only talking about 300 dollars or less here. This isn't even enough to pay the taxes or buy a memory upgrade. It might buy a microdrive, but I doubt it.
It's not worth the anger and resentment.

Hi,
Perhaps a re-post of Jonathan's reply on this thread is in order. I'd do it
but I don't have a copy at the office. If I get the gist of it, a similar
arrangement is in the works for CCB members as well, so this is no big deal.
