[Braillenote] battery and strange happening

Hello list: My battery was low to where I was getting the critical low message. 
 I turned off the braillenote and left it till the next day.  I got busy and 
forgot to charge it.  I turned it on the next day to write a short message.  It 
wouldn't come on at all.  I hooked up the adaptor and it acted like it had done 
a reset to where I had to set the clock again.  Is this normal? If not, what 
could have happened?
