Hi, It has been stated previously by Jonathan that the provision of updated maps for the GPS system is a time-consuming and, hence, costly process which will, necessarily, result in a slow turnround. Therefore, how feasible would it be for PDI to provide a utility wich would allow individuals to buy off-the-shelf maps (obviously within prescribed parameters) and amend them for use with the BrailleNote?
Obviously, if PDI don't feel totally proprietorial about the data format, they could release details of this and, lo and behold, once the much-heralded SDK comes along, this utility could be developed by a third party! Whatever the answer, I feel that some means needs to be found whereby up-to-date maps can be incorporated quickly. Regards Richard Bartholomew E-Mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
