Hi. My BrailleNote's Braille display just died. I gotta send the unit in
for repairs. PDI says that continuing to use it could cause further
damage. Problem: all my income tax records are on the BN, and what's
worse, files contain mixtures of literary, Nemeth and computer codes.
For example, all my checking account records contain the check number in
Nemeth, the pay to the order field in literary grade two, and the amount of
the check in Nemeth. Guess what happens when one tries to translate that
into a text document?
I've backed everything up onto a compact flash card, and hope to borrow a
friend's BN while doing my taxes. Meanwhile, I'm hand-copying lots of
stuff with my Perkins. My only other choice is to move the files to my pc
and emboss them. Ouch! Anybody else ever faced this problem?
