Hi Jessica,
If you're in the U.S., you can purchase a Service Contract for any model in the
BrailleNote Family from PulseData HumanWare. Other regions probably have
something similar, but I don't know. The Contract covers repairs and two
cleanings per year (cleanings apply to BrailleNote). I'm not sure of the
prices for each model, but I think it depends on your keyboard type, if you
have a braille display, and how many cells you have on the display. For my
unit, a BrailleNote with a Braille-style keyboard and a 32-35ll Braille
display, the price is $500 yearly. When I purchased my BrailleNote, I received
a letter both in print and Braille, which explained the terms and limitations
of the contract. Also, when my warranty was nearly expired, PDH (PulseData
HumanWare) sent me a notice telling me so; it included the same letter, and a
contract form, which I had to fill out within 30 days of receiving to put the
contract in effect. Calling PDH at (800) 722-3393 might also help you if you
need more information. Hope this helps.
Maria
