Dear Lisa,

I can understand your point, but would a sighted person be willing to do
without his or her car for a week? Of course not! They'd expect a loaner
or they'd rent a car.

I think PDI should allow its dealers to act as loaning centers. Like the
network of libraries, each state would have at least one center which would
loan BrailleNotes to users iliving n a particular state. PDI could act as
the lending center for those living abroad. The dealers in foreign
countries could also be encouraged to act as lending centers.

These loaning centers could also act as repair centers so BN users could
have their BNs cleaned and minor repairs such as a battery replacement done
by an authorized center in their own state or country.

If a major repair needed to be done, the user could be referred to PDI main
headquarters in the country where the person lives.

In cases where a person lives in a country which has no PDI dealer, PDI
could assign a particular place for the person to send his or her unit to.
