Jonathan, Hope you are better. I would like to clarify PDI's policy re the bn and interfacing with the main-stream.
When I was shopping around for my PDA (then called only a humble note-taker) one of the factors which influenced me was PDI's claim to having a policy of making, as far as is practicable, the bn suite of products able to interface with main-stream innovations. Now, I understand that this is not always easy or possible, however, as time goes by (and I have had my bn for more than 2 years now) I see less and less evidence of such an attempt. For example, the GPS seems to be tied to one set of pre-bought maps, this is not the case for other PDA's and is causing, as we have seen on this list, great problems for bn-GPS users. Also, wireless connectivity (which, if I remember correctly, I have already paid for with my SMA, as it was promised for the first upgrade in that agreement) However, now we seem to hear nothing about this. Again, this will cause increasingly, more problems, especially for the students using the bn. These are just two areas of interfacing which are falling short, I am sure others can think of more. Could you, therefore, tell me if there has been a change of policy, if the policy was ever truly intended, or, if I was mislead at the outstart? Thank you for all your responses they are very much appreciated, Slaan, Sandy.
